I’m heading back to my classroom for day 7 of unpacking. How can it take me this long? I’m determined to get my bulletin board borders up, things put away, and everything labeled. While it is a lot of work switching classrooms, I’m making sure it’s worth my time. I’m getting rid of things I don’t need. Everything will have a place when I’m done. It’ll be so organized it should be easy to keep it that way.
I saw someone on TV suggest that you should move out of your house even if you aren’t moving so you can go through things one by one and decide whether to keep it. I’m not going to do that, but I can see the value in doing that while moving classrooms. I moved everything out of my bedroom to paint it and am really looking at everything I bring back in. Less is calming.
I find it funny that I can put so much time and effort into getting my classroom perfect, but a summer will go by and I can’t get my house that way. Am I the only one more motivated to get things done at school than at home?

My hair has been screaming at me for weeks! I finally broke down yesterday and made me an appointment… LOL
Good luck finishing your room!

You are in no way alone in the lack of motivation for home vs school!! Why is that, anyway? But, it's the same every summer for me.

Maybe if I knew that dozens of people were coming into my home daily, I'd be more motivated.

I am more motivated to get things done for my classroom than at home. While I've made decent progress at home, I've spent way too much time crafting and making things on my computer…I think it's a teacher's disease. 🙂
I'm a new follower, come check me out and see my crafts!
