I recently had the opportunity to visit some classrooms at schools in my district.  A picture is worth a thousand words, so I think I’ll let them speak for themselves.

Question, Hypothesize, Experiment

Tables and stools work well for projects and collaboration.

Students set weekly goals and mark a star when they reach their goal.

Install backpack bar outside of the classroom to avoid the clutter.

Hang backpacks from rail with plastic hooks. You can use zip ties to secure the hooks to the railing.

At the beginning of a project, students write what they want to learn on stickies. Once they learn it, they can put a check on their sticky note.

Students classify and group animals by type at the beginning of a farm unit in Kindergarten.

Project Based Learning in Kindergarten

Students work as a group to create a timeline of the life of a historical figure.
