One of the greatest things about being a teacher, is all the wonderful people you meet. I’ve been thinking lately about how I’d love to introduce some of them to you.
I can’t think of a better person to start with. Sarah from Diapers, Dollars, and Diplomas is one of my favorite people in the world. It sounds like a hyperbole but its not.
Sarah is one of the funnest, funniest people I’ve ever met. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her and observing her classroom and I would love to be a kid in her class.

Surfing To Success! As a first grade teacher, I’m always on the lookout for
ways to keep my students motivated. I don’t know about your kiddos, but mine
always seem to be moving. And talking. Like, ALWAYS. All I hear in my brain as
their chatting bodies are simultaneously moving is Taylor Swift… only she’s
singing, “No weee-eeee, are never ever ever ever, sitting still together!”

Sitting still is just not in their repertoire.
Oh, we’ve donated to the Stillness

our wiggly spaces, but even that gets
old after a while.

Quick Fun Fact: I often
have my best ideas in the shower or immediately before I fall asleep. Shower
ideas always seem to work out best, and are also the most remembered. The following
idea is an immediately-before-falling-asleep idea, but I think it’s pretty good
anyhow. Now back to your regularly scheduled blog post.

Last night I was trying to think of new
and exciting ways to keep my never-ending moving students motivated to learn,
when I thought…surprises are the best. Task cards come in as a close second.

With that in mind, today I created a
whole slough of quick tasks to motivateme my students into getting a
few wiggles out, a few times throughout the day. These tasks are simple, great
for any age group, need zero materials/prep, and can be used in different ways.
I plan on cutting them out, laminating them, throwing them in my Question Mark
bag, and pulling them out randomly during transition times. I’m crossing my
fingers that they like them as much I hope they do! You can find them here on my TPT store.
Thanks for taking the time to let me get my wiggles out with you!
