I’m still learning
I started this blog this summer and I’m amazed that there are more than 200 people that are interested in following my thoughts and creations. Blogging is a reminder of how small this world is and how many people in the world we have so much in common with.
I’m still learning about this blogging world and I realize that I’m struggling in the area of communication. My Facebook Page won’t publish my blog anymore because it says it’s spam. I’ve heard that my emails are arriving in people’s spam boxes. I’m starting to get a bit of a complex.
Comments on my blog make me so happy and I love to reply to them. I’m still going back and forth about the best way to do that. If I reply through the blogger comments, you basically have to come back to see if I responded. Who remembers to do that?! So, I started replying via email. Blogger sends me an email and I can reply and have had some great back and forth conversations. Then, the other day when I hit reply I realized something that stressed me out. If someone doesn’t have email replies allowed on their account, my iPad shows their name in the To part of the email but when I click on the email it says “noreply@blogger.com” When I discovered that, I sent an email anyway hoping I’d get a notice and it went through and nothing bounced back. How many times have I replied to someone and not realized they weren’t going to get it?!? I’ve been talking to myself and not even realizing it. Sigh.
If your settings don’t allow people to respond via email, I’d change that. If you haven’t visited your spam box in a while, I’d check it out. You never know what you’ve been missing out on.
I appreciate all of you joining me along this journey. Thank you.

Hi Mercedes,
I totally understand what you're saying about comments. (I stopped here to go check my spam folder. Turns out I had won a giveaway and the email landed in there. Thank you so much for the reminder!) I had no idea I was a noreply blogger until someone explained it all and I changed my settings. I think it's blogger's default setting. Either people don't know or that's how they want it. I respond mostly via email. I don't mind replying on my blog post but as you said, how many will remember to come back and see if we've replied? If they have a blog, I'll stop by and leave a quick note saying I replied on my blog but if they don't, there's no way of replying. At least I don't think there is. I'm still new at this.
Once again, thank you for the spam folder reminder. I try to check it often but hadn't in a while. I'm off to choose my winnings!
Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
