left overs, I hope you are having a fun Friday.
I have a fun freebie I’m excited to share with
you!
you!
The other day I shared with you in this post about how I’m creating some task
cards for my students. I love that task cards can be used for early finishers, for scoot games, and for centers.
cards for my students. I love that task cards can be used for early finishers, for scoot games, and for centers.
I developed these task cards because I
wanted to fill in some gaps for my 5th grade students. They
struggle with some 5th grade standards because they don’t have a
complete understanding of standards from the previous grades.

So, I went step by step through
the common core and set out a plan of all the simple prerequisite skills my
students need.

For each skill I’ve provided some
vocabulary posters that can be posted, added to the task card envelope, or
shown on an interactive white board.

There are 30 task cards for each

I’ve provided recording sheets to keep track of answers and which
skills have been completed.

I’m all about
organization. Unfortunately, students aren’t always responsible.
With this in mind, I put the title of the skill in small print on each page or
task card. This should help you and your students to keep things
organized and return misplaced task cards to the correct place.

I love color and yet want to
save ink so only some of the pages have colorful backgrounds. Each skill
has a different background to color coordinate. Like skills have also
been grouped by color. For example, all of the simplest fraction skills
are some variation of bright green polka dot backgrounds.

I thought I was going to have a little project
making some fraction task cards, but as I started looking at the Common Core
fraction standards, I realized this was going to be a big project. I also
made it into big project by deciding I needed to make fraction clipart and a
fraction font as I was creating. I’ve uploaded my first four sets of
fraction task cards but there will be many more to come.

The first set, Identify Fractions, is FREE. All of the sets that come after it have the same components. As I keep working on the more advanced skills, the packets are getting a bit bigger because there is just so much more vocabulary to review.
I’ve started bundling things in my store lately. Rather than holding a bunch of sales, a bundle gives you a chance for a discount daily. Bundles are a great way to get a good deal. All of my bundles are 20-25% off. If you get them during the Cyber Monday sale you’ll get a spectacular deal.

What a cute set of clipart! I'll have to check out your TPT store to see what else you have! I teach K-2, so the fractions may be a little over my guys' heads, but it looks great for big kids!

Thanks for the compliment and for stopping by. If you click on my freebies section or visit my TPT store, you'll find a compound word freebie that would be great for 2nd graders. (I used to teach 2nd grade.)
