Are you interested in using digital resources from Teachers Pay Teachers but not sure how to personalize the resources to work for your classroom? Here are some tips for making the resources you buy work for you.
Important: This is about how to make a resource you bought work for you in your classroom. This is NOT about taking a resource, changing it and selling it. When you purchase a resource on TpT, you are purchasing a license for one user with the TOU stating that you can not resell, give away, or modify and resell the resource.
Before you Personalize Your Slides
The first thing you’ll want to do is Make a Copy of the Resource.
Personalize Your Slides by Deleting Slides
Sometimes you want to assign only part of a slide deck. This is simple. Just delete the slides you don’t want to assign. Click on the slide you want to delete in the side panel and press delete on your keyboard. To delete multiple slides, click the first slide. Then, hold the shift key and click the last slide. Then, hit delete.
Personalize by Saving One Slide as a Picture
You might want to mix things up and use the resource outside of Google. Maybe you want them to complete a slide in PicCollage or another iPad app. If this is the case, you can save a slide as a picture and insert that picture into an app.
Be sure to remove any text boxes so your picture doesn’t say “Type here” all over it. This option won’t work for a slide with movable pieces.
Personalize by Making Multiple Copies of a Slide
Sometimes you’ll have a slide you want to use over and over. You can make multiple copies of the slide. Click on the slide and copy. Click where you want and paste.
Personalize by Rearranging the Order
You can put slides in any order you want. Just click and drag and drop. To move several at a time, hold the shift key while selecting multiple slides.
Personalize the Slides by Typing
You can fill in text boxes or add your own text boxes before you give the assignment. You can also type in the speaker notes section to add additional directions.
What were those slides from?
I made the gifs for this post using my Growth Mindset: Goals, Data, and Reflection resource. This resource can be personalized for your classroom easily and used all year.
