Ever have one of those weeks that make the three day weekend THAT much sweeter?
Yeah. Sigh. Last week was a long week.
I wasn’t feeling well. Every morning my husband would say, “You really should take today off so you can get back to 100%.” I’d laugh and tell him the pressing reason “Today isn’t the day.”
I now have an after school class for an hour on Mondays and Thursdays. I had a 3 hour meeting about supporting some new teachers on Tuesday. We had an emergency leadership meeting on Thursday at the same time of my class. 5 minutes before that meeting I got a call from a teacher saying the principal wanted me to find a sub for my after school class. How would that have been possible. Lucky me the meeting was still going for an hour after my class was over so I was there for half of it.
As part of my leadership team, I feel a huge burden in helping to solve this ’emergency’ issue. So much so that I found myself awake at 5:30 on a Saturday laying in bed stressing about work.
That was when I decided that I wasn’t allowed to stress about things this weekend. Well, after a few hours I was convinced. I let myself just enjoy myself and relax. Wow, I really needed that.
I uploaded a product that I had finished earlier in the week so I could feel like I accomplished something.
I started a new hobby (Smashbooking) and created a pin board for it like a dork.
I actually fell asleep during the second playoff game and took a real nap.
Today I enjoyed doing some errands with my husband and watching some movies. I think my sickness is gone. I’ll hop in my bubble tomorrow and bathe in “han-i-tizer” (as our kids call it).
Now that I let myself relax, I feel the need for a To Do List. I’m joining in the 5 for Five linky for the first time.
My five goals for this week:
1. Create subplans for Thursday so I can go to a meeting.
2. Make sure EVERY child returns their signed progress report.
3. Slow down and review. My curriculum moves so quickly. I have two to four new skills tested each week. I need to prioritize what is left between now and testing and make sure to focus on quality learning rather than quantity.
4. Post at least one of the items that I’ve already made but haven’t gotten around to posting on TPT.
5. Remember to breathe. Our leadership team has a lot of work ahead of us and the best way to keep moving forward is to breathe and think clearly.
I’m ready for this four day week. How about you?

I guess I have been smashing but didn't know it! Now that you have shown me the way, I will be pinning it like crazy! DO you have a folio that you use?

I've been wanting to get my daughter a "smashing" notebook. I think she'd love it. I'm going to go follow your board for ideas 🙂
Glad you are feeling better…stay well!

I love your Smashbooking board. I scrapbook but have never done a smashbook, it looks interesting. Have a quiet & short week,
